How to Grow Marigolds From Seed Marigolds are perfect if you want big color without much work. They'll bloom all season as long as they have sun and a little water. What You will learn in this article  • Planting steps   • Soil • Light and temperature • Germination and growth  Starting Marigold seeds You dont need to dig deep holes for Marigold Seeds.  I usually just sprinkle them on the soil in the area your want them to grow. Cover the seeds lightly with about one quarter to one half inch of soil or compost mix, and then give them a very gentle watering.  It's fine to plant the Seeds close together for now.
